Say goodbye to BBX and hello to BlackBerry 10. RIM has tweeted that the official name of its next generation mobile platform is Blackberry 10.
“#BBDevCon Asia Keynote: BlackBerry 10 is the official name of the next generation platform that will power future BlackBerry smartphones!^BZ,” tweeted BlackBerryDev.
Originally RIM had been planning to use the name BBX but lost a legal battle with Basis International, a company that has been using the name for its software products.
Blackberry 10, previuosly known as BBX, unveiled in October, is a unified operating system for BlackBerry smartphones, tablets and other devices, combining the latest, greatest and best features of the BlackBerry OS and QNX, the operating system RIM had purchased in 2010.
