It now appears that Diablo III won’t be released any earlier than the 2nd quarter of 2012. Originally, the game was to be released before the end of 2011, but that was ruled out in September when Blizzard said the game would no longer arrive that year. The next expected date was a very vague “early 2012”. The latest estimate for delivery of the game is the second quarter of this year, meaning any time between the beginning of April and the end of June. The delay is thought to be due to some major design changes being implemented as a result of beta tester feedback. Design changes at this late in development can be pretty serious, costly and time consuming.
Blizzard has a policy of not releasing anything until it’s ready and we expect that Diablo III won’t disappoint once it ships.
The first Diablo game was released December 31,st 1996 with the sequel, Diablo II released in 2000.
